Outdoor resin from Bab Berred, in the Moroccan Rif Mountains. 22.1% CBD and 1.8% terpenes, from a single harvest of 126 kilograms.

This is the only batch in the line to feature both the deepest complexity and the liveliest freshness we’ve ever measured. It is the successor to No. 0003, which was highly requested by our customers. Dry sifted using a tam-tam sieve, 153 microns. ISO 17025 analysis available for review prior to purchase.

Two extremes in the same resin

In our Rif resins, two molecules typically contrast with each other: a heavy, woody compound that forms the base, and a light, fresh molecule that takes the top note. When one rises, the other falls—this is the rule across all our batches.

No. 0015 is the exception. Its selinadiene content reaches 0.44% and its alpha-pinene 0.37%: these are the highest levels we’ve recorded for these two molecules across all batches.

In practical terms, this means a resin that offers a rich aroma and a full-bodied flavor. The freshness is evident as soon as you open the bottle; the resinous base takes over upon burning and maintains the finish. Neither element is overshadowed by the other.

Hand-pressed, with no cutting agents or additives.

Character, aroma and texture

The first two bars in the chart below are worth looking at together. One corresponds to a heavy molecule—the one that provides the base and the lingering quality. The other corresponds to a light molecule—the one that immediately rises to the nose.

In our other batches, these two are mutually exclusive: the higher one is, the lower the other is. Here, they are both at their peak, and this is the only instance of this in our range.

The rest of the profile unfolds beneath them—peppery notes, sweetness, and a rounded fruitiness—without trying to dominate. It is these two top notes that define this batch’s character, along with the fact that they coexist.

Strawberry x Cannatonic: What No. 0003 Was Missing

No. 0003, our Straw Beldi, left a lasting impression. Enough so that customers are asking for it to return—which doesn’t happen very often for a batch that will never be produced again.

We didn’t reproduce it. A terroir-specific resin captures a specific season: reproducing it exactly makes no sense, and no one can honestly promise that.

What we did was cross the Strawberry with the Cannatonic—one of the first strains stabilized for cannabidiol. It doesn’t add aroma; it adds consistency. A reliably high CBD content, and a hardiness that allows it to thrive outdoors in a demanding environment.

So No. 0015 is not No. 0003. It’s what the same concept yields when built on a more solid foundation: 22.1% CBD and a broader terpene profile.

Bab Berred: the same terroir as No. 0017, a different result

This batch does not come from Ounas Edin but from Bab Berred, on a plot exposed to the Rif’s intense UV rays and marked temperature fluctuations. The plant responds by producing more trichomes: this is a defense mechanism, not a matter of comfort.

Our No. 0017 grows on this same terroir. Yet its profile bears no resemblance to that of No. 0015—where No. 0015 exhibits two opposing molecules at their peak simultaneously, No. 0017 presents a fruity profile with much more nuanced layers.

This is something our successive analyses show quite clearly: the terroir provides a framework; it does not determine the profile. What determines it is what we plant there and what the season does with it.

Why does cannabis produce resin?

Analysis of Lot No. 0015: 22.1% CBD, 1.8% terpenes

CBD 22.1%
CBC / CBG / Δ8 1.4% / 1.1% / 0.29%
CBN 0.16%
Total terpenes 1.8%
THC 1.0% — compliant with the Swiss threshold

CBN, and why we list it

CBN is present in this batch at 0.16%, whereas our other Moroccan resins contain none. It forms when THC breaks down, and extended curing contributes to this: it’s the downside of a long aging process, which rounds out the aromatic profile but leaves this trace.

We choose to disclose it rather than conceal it. A published report is only meaningful if we don’t cherry-pick what we show.

What the Sieve Lets Through

Like any unprocessed dry sift, this resin contains a fraction of plant material. The sieve separates the trichomes from the rest of the plant; it does not isolate them completely.

A final electrostatic sifting process would remove this residue, retaining only the trichome heads. But concentrating the heads also concentrates everything they contain, including THC. What the sieve lets through is precisely what maintains the balance of the finished product.

Sensory profile: Beldi strawberry, freshness, resinous undertones

On the nose

Strawberry comes through first, but not the kind you’d expect. The Moroccan Beldi is more tart and less sweet than the European variety, almost wild—nothing like the candy-like sweetness of certain strains. A vegetal freshness immediately accompanies it, carried by alpha-pinene at the very top of our range.

On the burn

The fruitiness opens up, the woody freshness rises, then the resinous and earthy base settles in and lingers—that’s where selinadiene, also at the highest level, takes over. A hint of spice extends the finish. Even burn, without any harshness.

In the hand

Oily, supple, melt-in-the-mouth. The ingot can be worked with the fingertips without heating; it stretches slightly and crumbles cleanly. It is the opposite of No. 0013, which is dense and sticky. Golden hue, uniform texture throughout its thickness.

126 kilos, not a single one more

This is what this plot yielded this season. The figure isn’t a measure of performance—it’s a limit.

An open-field crop yields what the soil, rain, and season allow. We could boost the yield—more inputs, more sifted material, less sorting. We don’t do that, and the result is a quantity that can be counted and that will eventually run out.

Once these 126 kilos are sold, No. 0015 will no longer exist. The next season will yield a different number, a different profile, a different balance. That’s the essence of a terroir-driven resin: it captures a single year—it can’t be replicated.

Questions about Lot No. 0015

No. 0015 is not a reproduction. A regional resin captures the essence of a specific growing season, and recreating it exactly makes no sense. We crossed Strawberry with Cannatonic, a strain stabilized for cannabidiol, which results in a higher and more consistent CBD content as well as greater hardiness when grown outdoors. The signature fruity flavor is preserved, and the base is more robust.

In colloquial Arabic, "beldi" means "from the country" or "local." The Moroccan beldi strawberry is more tart and less sweet than the European variety, with an almost wild character. It is this very flavor that this batch embodies—pure, without the candy-like sweetness found in some strains.

This is what sets it apart, and we haven’t observed it in any other batch. Selinadiene reaches 0.44% and alpha-pinene 0.37%—the two highest levels in our range for these compounds. Usually, one increases at the expense of the other. Here, both coexist, resulting in a resin that is expressive on the nose and persistent on the palate.

CBN forms when THC breaks down due to time, heat, or light. This batch underwent an extended curing process, which rounds out the flavor profile and leaves this trace: 0.16%. This is the downside of a long curing process, and we’re being transparent about it rather than hiding it.

Because that’s what the plot yielded this season. An outdoor crop yields what the soil and climate allow; forcing the yield would require more inputs and less sorting. Once these 126 kilos are sold, the batch will no longer exist—the following season will have a different number and a different analysis.
