Its aroma of roasted peanuts is immediately apparent upon opening—and it doesn’t appear on any lab report, for a reason we’ll explain below. This is also the flower from which we produce our 153-micron Peanut Butter resin.
Open the bag: the roasted peanut aroma is right there, distinct, almost buttery. Open any lab report for this strain: it’s not there.
This isn’t a lab error. A GC-FID analysis identifies cannabinoids and terpenes—two families of molecules among many others. The roasted and milky notes come from different families: esters, pyrazines, and sulfur compounds, present in minute quantities and absent from any standard terpene report.
We publish our reports and will continue to do so. But a report states what it measures, not what you’ll smell. With this strain more than any other, the discrepancy is evident.
Such a rich aroma naturally suggests an additive. Two things rule this out: it’s already present in the flower—you’re holding it in your hands—and the report on the resin extracted from it shows no isolated peaks, the signature that a synthetic terpene would inevitably leave.
This strain’s terpene profile is subtle: a woody base, a vegetal freshness, and a slight roundness. Nothing that explains the peanut flavor.
That’s normal. The molecules responsible for the roasted notes do not belong to the terpene family and do not appear in any standard analysis. The report for our Peanut Butter resin, available online, clearly shows this: the measured profile does not match what the nose perceives.
Do-Si-Dos × Mendo Breath. For a hashmaker, these two names say it all.
This strain is renowned for its resin production —it’s even its signature trait. Do-Si-Dos is known for its buds that are literally frosted with trichomes. Mendo Breath brings the aromatic complexity and those rich, earthy notes that give Peanut Butter its name. From this cross comes a perfectly balanced hybrid (~50/50) —neither overwhelmingly sedative nor overly stimulating: a perfect balance.
Based on this, we selected the CBD phenotype. This isn’t simply an imported strain as-is: it’s the result of a selective breeding process designed to preserve the resin and aromas of the original lineage while achieving a legal and stable cannabinoid profile — 19.3% CBD.
But the real selection criterion lies elsewhere.
This indoor CBD flower produces dense, low-stickiness trichomes. For a flower consumer, this is a minor detail. For a dry sift producer, it’s decisive. A sticky trichome clumps together on the sieve, carries away plant material, and compromises the extraction. A dry, detachable trichome falls cleanly, intact, and in one piece. It is precisely this characteristic that makes Peanut Butter the raw material for our 153-micron dry sift resin, extracted using the P5000 pollinator in Valais.
The flower wasn’t chosen for its beauty. It was chosen because it sifts well.
And therein lies the paradox: this technical requirement also yields an excellent flower for smoking — light green buds, densely covered with trichomes, with a frosty, resinous finish and a distinct, recognizable peanut flavor profile. What’s good for the sieve is good for you.

This is a detail that few indoor CBD flower growers are willing to commit to, because it costs more: we use both technologies simultaneously. HPS provides light penetration and floral density —it builds the bud’s structure. LED provides aromatic finesse and trichome yield —it builds what you’re really interested in. Separately, each does half the job. Together, they make Peanut Butter.

Indoors, everything is controlled: temperature, humidity, light cycle, and nutrition. The plant isn’t subjected to anything— it receives exactly what it needs, when it needs it. The steps, in order:
Soft trim deserves special attention. Overly aggressive trimming—such as that performed by a machine— rips off the trichomes along with the leaves. For a strain selected for its resin, that would be absurd. We trim by hand, gently, even if it takes time.

As the temperature rises to 200–210 °C, caryophyllene and bisabolol take over: the profile becomes warm, spicy, and enveloping. It’s the same flower, two distinct experiences. Few strains offer such a clear contrast between these two extremes.
Visually, Peanut Butter doesn’t disappoint: light green buds, densely covered with trichomes, with that frosty, resinous finish characteristic of the Do-Si-Dos lineage. You can see the resin before you smell it.
To the touch, it’s more subtle—and that’s where its true uniqueness lies. The trichomes are dense but not very sticky. The bud is resinous without making your fingers sticky. Natural. It comes from the Mendo Breath strain, known for its rich, indulgent notes. If an added aroma were present, it would show up in the terpene profile of the resin from this flower as an abnormally high concentration of a specific molecule in an otherwise flat profile. Ours shows no such indication.
Because a GC-FID analysis identifies cannabinoids and terpenes, and the toasty or milky notes come from other families of molecules—esters, pyrazines, and sulfur-containing compounds. These are present in trace amounts and do not appear on any standard report, regardless of the laboratory. The aroma is real; it is simply not measured in this report.
Because we haven’t measured it, and we don’t publish figures we can’t verify. We analyze the finished product—the resin derived from this flower—and this report is available online. Since sifting concentrates the trichomes without adding anything, the flower’s values are necessarily lower than those of the concentrate. This is a verifiable upper limit rather than a claim.
Everything, except for the growing conditions. Amnesia is fresh, lemony, and herbaceous; Peanut Butter is rich, toasty, and buttery. Yet their respective resins have nearly identical terpene profiles—this is the best example of what a lab report can’t tell you.
